The above photo shows my costume in its early stages. I hadn't made the outer cape at that point
or the armor. (I was still trying to figure that out). As you can see, the mouth screen on the
helmet is totally see through so I needed to find a way to fill it but still maintain good ventilation. I
actually ended up using the black sponge filter from a vacumn cleaner which worked perfectly after I cut it to size.
This is a great photo from the back and shows how the armor sits on my shoulders. Some
people have reported needing straps to hold the armor on but with the shape I made, it sits perfectly to my shape
and stays on with the weight of the cape. You can also see the back of the helmet which is horrible. I
made a neck brace to cover this part and make the mask more authentic.
Halloween 2005 in Ashland Oregon while I wait to be interviewed by Channel 5 News. That was a
lot of fun. (I chose this photo as you can see the difference a neck brace makes.)
My first appearance with the 501st as the official Vader for my area.
This was for the release of Revenge Of The Sith at a major retail outlet.
My appearance at my daughters school. I just loved the looks on their faces when Darth Vader walked into the classroom.
Do your homework or feel the wrath of the darkside. Hmmm....could work. (Or is homework part of the darkside?)
My costume currently has pride of place on a mannequin displayed in my home.
